Star Wars The Deckbuilding Game Clone Wars

It’s not a Star Realms clone. Because instead of bases we get ships, and instead of ships we get bases. I invite you to review the sequel to the first part of Star Wars deck building. Roger Roger.
Star Wars Deck Building game is a typical deck builder. Each of us starts with the same deck of cards, we draw 5 cards and we are already able to attack. Well, maybe I’ve simplified it a bit. Because now we can move on to what this game does a little differently to my beloved realms.

Variable market card is hmmm
I’ll start right away with the controversial thing. I mean, of course, the common card market. Because all players can buy cards from it, but only those belonging to our faction or those that are neutral. You can love it or hate it just like Anakin of the sand. I’m definitely on the dark side of the excitement. Because I often felt that I was unable to get cards for my deck which blocked my progression. Even the supposedly cool patent that allowed me to destroy cards belonging to my rival’s didn’t help me with this. In most cases, it was better to attack my opponents base than to waste shots like the stormtroopers.

It was also often the case that as soon as someone bought their strongest card at the start of the game, it was game over. The balance of force was definitely not felt.
Force, death and robots
The game will pit the Republic against the Separatists. I really like how each faction has its own mechanics and is good at something different. The good side of the force plays with their deck and cards in their hand. This gives us extra effects and gives us a chance to draw better cards.

Fans of androids will annihilate them to gain cool bonuses. By the way, this will also slim down our deck. In general, both sides try to draw the strongest cards for their hand. That’s what I like the most.
Can you feel the base?
The most important feature of the Star Wars Deckbuilding Game is that our task is not to beat our opponent to 0. Because to win we have to destroy a certain number of their bases. This is quite a nice variety in such games. In addition, the bases have their own abilities and we choose which ones we will use. All this will depend on the situation in the game and on the market. This is a great concept and the best feature of this game for me.

In addition, we can modify the game time by changing the number of bases needed to victory. Because if we play to 3 bases, we don’t even have time to build our deck. However, as soon as we add another base to our pool, the balance of deck building and enjoyment increases.
Track interference
He lies there, looks at us and that’s it. We use it very rarely, and only when we happen to have a card that could accidentally disrupt the balance of the force. In fact, it pays off for the Empire’s forces, so the Republic doesn’t get an extra die for purchases. Almost cool, but not quite.

Rank of Master
I really like the atmospheric illustrations on the cards. You can feel that this is Star Wars in full force.
Summary
I won’t hide it. It’s not an ideal deck building game. What annoys me is that common market, which means that most of the time we just don’t develop our deck. For what it’s worth, I like the gameplay itself and the Star Wars vibe. It’s such a typical deck builder, cloning a lot of things from Star Realms. Although it does vary with different bases and two great factions.
Final Verdict: Seemingly a clone, but still manages to hit my taste.

- Typical good deck builder
- Star Wars vibe
