Primal The Awakening Mount Havoc Expansion

Primal the Awakening is still the perfect game for me. It won me over with its fantastic card-playing system, hundreds of combos, equipment crafting, character development, an engaging campaign, and, most importantly, the joy of defeating huge monsters.

That’s why I didn’t hesitate to get the Primal The Awakening Mount Havoc Expansion. It introduces some interesting variations to our campaign and, most importantly, new characters.

The new heroines level the playing field when it comes to beating up reptiles

Karah wields two huge blades. She is a very mobile character who can jump over beasts and move around. However, her main advantage is her attack combos. Many cards allow her to extend combos and play cards for free. She is simply great, and I really enjoy her play style.

Heleren requires a little more experience. This character focuses on controlling the beast’s behavior and drawing cards. To do this, she shoots hers huge gun, spending bullets to strengthen her actions. She is more of a support character who helps other players.

Both characters bring something interesting to the gameplay and work very well on the battlefield. Obviously, the more heroes available, the better.

Mini campaign

The most important feature of this expansion is the option to play the entire campaign in a shorter and more concise form. We can finish everything in 3 chapters. That is, three battles, after which we can say to ourselves, Good job, that was fun.

We will start the game with first-level equipment. By defeating successive monsters, we will unlock new content that will increase our pool of available cards, equipment, and potions. There will be no need to collect ingredients for crafting. We will get everything for free after winning a battle.

I really liked this simplified form of conducting a campaign. I like campaign games, but I don’t always have time to play 15 scenarios in a row. Especially in the case of Primal the Awakening, where a long break meant that I had to remember all the rules and micro-rules. That’s why I was happy to play two mini-campaigns with different team compositions to check out all the available options.

The second time, I even chose the monsters myself. Normally, we draw them from a pool of available cards, but since some of the miniatures were painted, I wanted to take advantage of that. In fact, all the beasts should be in this card pool. There’s no need to limit yourself.

Summary

Primal The Awakening Mount Havoc Expansion is a sensational addition to my favorite game. Not only does it introduce two new characters with unique mechanics, but it also gives you the opportunity to play a mini-campaign. This form of gameplay is perfect for me because, thanks to the smooth transition between stages and the unlocking of new content, I can complete the entire story in one long session. This progression system simply gives me the most fun and motivates me the most to continue hunting.

Final verdict: Primal The Awakening Mount Havoc Expansion means more plastic, more cards, and more joy of defeating huge monsters.
